| Kitesurfing Locations and info for the Wirral,West Kirby & New Brighton |
|
Airforce Kitesurfing have worked with Merseyside and Lancashire coastal authorities to secure unique and amazing learning venues. Our sites comprise, of ideal learning conditions, and superb safe beaches.Although we started at Ainsdale which is a very nice and friendly kitebeach. In 2008 we were fortunate enough to gain the exclusive licence for the wirral peninsular. This gives us five beaches on the Wirral to run kitesurfing lessons from including West Kirby , New Brighton , Leasowe Bay and Red Rocks. These locations cover every wind direction apart from ESE,and also have excellent motorway and travel links from Liverpool,Manchester & Chester really puting Merseyside on the map, and is fast becoming the North West's premiere kitesurf location. The conditions for TEACHING AND LEARNING here are far superior, as we have an abundance of knee to waist depth flat water lagoons which will drastically increase your learning curve, and the fact that we cover almost every wind direction will give your lesson much more opportunity of going ahead..................................WE ONLY TEACH WHEN THE WIND AND WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE SUITABLE.(so be patient and don't be ripped off when the wind isn't blowing).
Saling and rigging zones for the wirral peninsular (rigging areas/access are marked in green): Derby Pool:

For further info on sailing zones either check with airforce kite school, the beach rangers/lifeguards,or experienced local riders. Please dont just turn up and sail in bird zones or put other beach users at risk, ask and respect everyone's right to the beaches.
New Brighton , Leasowe Bay - No kites within 100,m of the sea wall,no kites past yellow bouy by derby pool lifeguard tower (life boat launch and obviously sea groins),at Leasowe bay you must leave 100m radius around the rock sea defences obviously for your own safety but also this is landing area for the birds on thier way to Hilbre island.Rig in the zones above and otherwise u can kite anywhere between the lifeguard tower and Leasowe lighthouse.
West Kirby - zones are listed in the info point at the marine lake they change from winter to summer,so check the board if not ask the wardens there. This site has some of the rarest roosting birds in europe we are luck to be allowed to kite there please keep it that way. |
